DESIGN

Occasionally it comes out of the blue, whether we’re designing an entire retail interior concept, or a bespoke display unit. But usually inspiration takes time, teamwork and lots of tea. Once we’ve nailed the concept, our design team will develop a series of proposals including:

  • Mood boards & sketches
  • Renders
  • Material samples
  • Full schematics

In & out store graphics

Before we hand over to your merchandisers, we’ll ensure the store is dressed up with branding, navigation, department, product and POS communications. More often than not, we’ll produce these elements, but sometimes our clients need us to do the whole shebang – from design to artwork. Inside-outside, i-beacon, digital graffiti walls – you name it we’ll know about it and if the technology feels right for your brand-customer experience we’ll bring it to you.

Whether you’ve got a loose idea, a rough sketch or a more worked up concept, of a merchandising unit, counter, POS stand, display table – you name it we can develop it through to full prototype and then onto ‘one off’ or volume production.

  • Concept – mood board to render
  • Design development
  • Material finishes/choices
  • Applying latest manufacturing & material innovations
  • Value engineering
  • Environmental considerations/improvements
  • Manufacturing drawings & detailing
  • Standard detail manuals

We’ll translate the design intent and develop the concept scheme into a fully engineered, build ready, design. If the design is being generated by your in-house team or external partners, we’ll get to know each other very well.

Ideally we like to be involved from the outset as an integrated project delivery team to be on-hand to input engineering, manufacturing & materials know how. If the renders are already complete, however, we will work tirelessly to stay true to the vision while remaining commercially viable.

  • Design development
  • Material finishes/choices
  • Applying latest manufacturing & materials innovations
  • Value engineering
  • Environmental considerations/improvements
  • M&E/ lighting layouts
  • Revit Architecture – 3D model & integrated architectural detailing
  • Construction drawings & detailing
  • Co-ordination of various drawing layers, trades and material interfaces
  • Building control & regs compliant
  • As built drawings
  • Standard detail manuals
  • Scoping

If you want to know exactly what to expect we can produce 3D photo realistic models so that you can view your design from every angle.

You could even walk through store,  pick up products and turn them over or pick up a fixture and move it with one click, before it’s even been built, with ‘immersive’ technology. Here’s a sneak preview, if you’d like a full demonstraton we’re very happy to show you.

Should you already have your concept design but need further reassurance, or help to convince others,  we’re very happy to compliment your existing design partners to provide the renders needed. If you want to take the path of your customer, an animated fly through can also be developed.

Throughout the technical design phase we will interrogate the make up of each element to engineer the best solution taking into consideration:

  • Design intent/brand
  • Fit for purpose
  • Life span
  • Durability
  • Finish
  • Operation
  • Installation
  • Re-installation
  • Deconstruction
  • Upcycling
  • Value

Value engineering, it’s ingrained!
