Resolution Interiors worked in partnership with Lacoste for their new store at Intu Lakeside and a six-week program to deliver the new retail space (albeit our remit began some 20 weeks before being on-site).
We were commissioned to deliver Architectural Development and Project Management Services that included: project specification; surveying & conditions report; consultation with trade services; contract negotiation on behalf of the client and overseeing the full project delivery.
We space planned and designed the store in-line with the design principles issued by Lacoste’s head office in Paris, France; UK legislation; and the regulations of the Intu center. Whilst Lacoste directed the creative concept, we got to work in creating site specific designs which included the shopfront, ceiling heights, back of house roller racking systems.
In this type of store, we would have typically installed a mezzanine. Whilst the slab was structurally sound enough to support the mezzanine, it would not have been fit for purpose due to the sheer quantity of stock being handled making it an unfeasible option for Lacoste. Industry knowledge played a part here with the suggestion of a roller racking system which allowed the store to have back of house facilities for their staff, as well as a full stock room for the brand. In turn, this helped with a saving on the investment for our client.
