Leek United Building Society – Uttoxeter

Following the successful application of the new concept design to their flagship branch in Leek, Resolution Interiors, alongside our sister-design agency, Field, were invited back to refit the next branch in Uttoxeter. The branch was finished with our signature high standards and attention to detail, and the client is thrilled with the results. We are currently working on our third Leek branch and look forward to continuing working with them, as they update and refit their premises across Staffordshire.

Scope

The Uttoxeter branch is smaller than the branch on Derby Street, but this did not stop the team from creating a modern, functional and community led space. The brief was to make the space more inviting and friendly for customers of all ages, and generally modernise the environment, so by removing existing meeting rooms, and taking out some partition walls, we could reconfigure the space to make it a little more open plan. Following a full strip out, we were able to rebuild the space to specification. New partition walls were constructed and installed along with, new doors, a suspended ceiling, new carpets, electrics, and signage. Bespoke joinery components, that included the replacement of the transaction counter, as well as new additions – including the Discovery Bar and Community Board, allow informal conversations to take place in and around the branch. Finally, internal, and external decoration, alongside fire and intruder alarms, CCTV works and associated electrical and data works took place, finishing off the new look and usability of the space.

How we made the space work?

We took on learnings from the fit out of the Derby Street branch and ensured works in Uttoxeter were also carried out efficiently and to the client’s requirements. Throughout the project, we worked closely with Field to ensure the concept was translated into a smaller format branch with confidence, as well as adding personal touches to make the local community feel welcomed.

It was important to create dedicated meeting rooms for clients to have private, one to one conversations with the staff. With Leek United’s aim to encourage a younger audience through the doors, it was important that the space was not intimidating and felt like a community hub. These rooms were reconfigured to ensure the entrance space maintained as bright and welcoming as possible. The new layout of the branch is more effective for both staff and customers.
