Caudalie, Carrousel du Louvre, Paris
December’s store spot is Caudalie. A French skincare company who specialize in anti-ageing, body care, and masks. The active ingredient within their products is derived from the grape vine. The store I visited was situated in the Carrousel du Louvre a sophisticated shopping center that leads visitors to the Louvre.
One of the key aspects which drew me to this store spot was the barn like structure created within the unit. Although it has this rural reference the material use makes the space feel more fresh and airy, than rustic. This material use has been drawn nicely through to the wall unitary that has been left raw and simple. I really admire such commitment to a single message and focused theme in which every element from structure to finishing detail conveys the brand provenance.
I think my favorite aspect of this month’s store spot is this detailing. Examples include the wine barrel inspired sampling bar, and subtle visual merchandising touches like the small glass jars that hold grapes giving reference to the product’s primary ingredient. Stunning visual imagery of vine yards, further showcases the brand story, origin and raison d’être, while elaborating on the company’s ethics.
