Budgens Grocery Fit Out
Retail

Budgens

Client: Budgens, Holt

Duration: 4 weeks fit out

The Brief

The town of Holt had been living without its only supermarket for nearly 3 years, after it was destroyed by a devastating electrical fire in June 2020. With works underway to replace this essential community store, the pressure to complete construction was high. Whilst the build programme slipped through CAT A and B phases Budgens Store owner, CT Baker, was looking to make up for lost time with the store fit out.

The Project

Intensive pre-planning, a commitment to early design approval and a freeze on any subsequent design changes meant we were able to squeeze the fitout timeframe. This project was all about engineering an approach, to work at real pace. We worked with our manufacturers to ensure the retail system was produced in smaller parts, to allow for super fleet installation on site. Whilst we closely stage managed the shop floor to ensure all trades adequate space to work efficiently. We completed the store in time for its all-important opening date, where the town of  Holt can now access self-service groceries and post office services, together with bakery and deli items, once more.

Key team members

We worked closely with CT Baker’s merchandising team to allow them early access to the shop floor, through a phased approach. They identified modifications to display equipment to suit product display ideas, which we were able to fulfil whilst still on site.
